SANTA CRUZ!!!

Hey people!

Tomorrow we will be heading over the hill to Santa Cruz for a day at the beach and the Boardwalk. Meet in the youth room at 12 and expect to be back around 7pm. Cost is $27 for gas and the boardwalk or $5-10 for transportation if you just want to hang out on the beach. Dont forget your swimsuit, suncreen, a towel and money for food. If you didnt get a chance to sign up on the wall come on by anyways!

Happy Summer Friends,

We were having some web issues so I apologize that the summer events did not show up on the calendar until just a short time ago. Just a little reminder that we’re off to the Boardwalk this coming Wednesday at noon and you need to RSVP to me or sign up on “The Wall” by tomorrow to save your spot. (check the event details or Kristen’s update for specifics).

Next week is the River Float and the following week is The Houseboating Trip. All Sr High youth are invited to join our youth group and two other’s from Southern California as we spend an action filled week together. We’ll start out Saturday night, July 24th with a BBQ at Bethel, spend the night at church, worship outside in the morning, and then head to Lake Don Pedro for 5 days of houseboating, wake boarding, fishing, eating, studying, hanging out FUN! The trip will conclude Friday afternoon, July 30th. The total cost for the trip is $350 and the money is due by Wednesday, July 21st. Signed up as of right now is Michael Schrey, Alex Nadell, Jonathan Stolan, Rachel Gaardsmoe, Emma Rothwein, Trevor Leimer, Andrew Barton, Jessica Cohan, Luke Ferguson, Kevin Biehl, and Lindsay & Kristen Bryson. There is only room available for alternates as of right now.

Keep your eyes and ears open for the rest of the summer events and make sure to check out the website for details.

We are giving YOU the opportunity to help decide what we will do on wednesday the 7th. Here are your options:

A day of biking around Angel Island, you would need to bring $25 for gas and the ferry to and from the island, a sack lunch, plus money for snacks and this is byob so… bring your own bike obivously ;) we would haul them there in Tom’s trailer.

Or horseback riding on Ocean Beach near San Franscisco the cost would be $45, bring a sack lunch and money for snacks (the horse is provided).

Vote for what you want to do in the comments section below, voting will close tomorrow at 9:00pm.

BBQ, Discussion and Yogurtland

Hello people!

This week we will be meeting in the youthroom at 5:30 for a dinner of BBQ. Then we will stop in at Torvend Hall for a dicussion on the church’s Mission Profile and what we are looking for in our new associate pastor. We will end the night with a journey to Yogurtland, so bring $5 for dinner and however much you want for yogurt and come on down.

Hey Everybody!

Hope your summer is excellent. Tomorrow we will be heading over to the Capitol Drive-In to watch a movie or two and hang out. Bring $20ish for admissions and a snack stop along the way, also wear warm clothes and bring a blanket or ten because it gets chilly out there. It is mostly young drivers but there will be some adults driving if you need them to. Meet in the youth room at 7:15.

Bonjour!
So sadly our wednesday nights of fun are at an end. This week instead of a wednesday event we will be meeting up on THURSDAY at 5:30 to go to Taco Bell/ Togos/ KFC/ Starbucks and then we will be heading off to Homestead High School to see Rachel and Tyler in the play The Laramie Project. This play is an incredibly moving story about a boy who was killed in Wyoming for being gay. If you can make it then please go to show your support of Rachel and Tyler and to see a great play!
REMINDER: This friday and saturday is the Common Ground work weekend. We will be meeting at church at 7:15 to practice our songs and dramas and start putting our show together!!! If you cannot come make sure to let Tom know. We should be done by 4 on saturday :)

Hi Everyone!

This Wednesday the 19th we will be traveling to Second Harvest to sort food. Then we will go to Slice a New York for pizza, bring $10.

Saturday the 22nd Bethel Church School is having a track meet and they need our help! If you are planning on going on the house boating trip this is a great opportunity to fundraise. Meet at Cupertino High School at 8:30am.

This Sunday the 23rd is the senior recognition brunch. Seniors come at 9:30 to eat, everyone else come at 9:30 to help out!

Also this Sunday is the Jr./ Senior High beach trip. We will be heading down to Santa Cruz for some fun at Twin Lakes Beach. Bring $15 for lunch and snacks on the way there. Don’t forget your swimsuit, beach towel, sunscreen and a friend. Come to the youth room at 11:35 right after church, we should be back around 6:30.

Tomorrow we will be attending the forth, and final, class on the ELCA’S Human Sexuality Statement. Come at 5:30 if you would like to get some dinner before, or just come at 7 for the class. We will be done at 8:30. Should be great! Better see all you kids there.

P.S Guess who’s going to Hawaii next year???? I AMMMMMM!!!!! (in case you were wondering)

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!!! To celebrate the festivities, you can choose to eat at Wahoo (Mexican fish tacos), Potsticker King (Mexican Potstickers), Wing Stop (Mexican Chicken), J.T. McHearts (Mexican Pizza), Eric’s Deli Cafe (Mexican Sandwiches), Olarn (Mexican Thai), or Yogurtland (Mexican Yogurt)… how many more choices could you want!  Then we will be heading back to church at 7 to participate in the third week of the ELCA’s sexuality social statement. It should be a blast!  Not to mention some epic fist fights and verbal squabbles jk :) Hope to see you there.
