(brinner= breakfast for dinner :], including papas a la Molly, blueberry & chocolate chip panqueques a la personas hermosas(lovely youth assistants), juevos de Tomas, meat of mystery ( also known as egasuas)). Following this lovely meal, we will be having a discussion about our upcoming National Youth Gathering in New Orleans. Please bring a parental to get some information :) .

Then Sunday 1/22, join us at 9 oclock for worship. After worship we will be a part of Socks and Sandwiches. We will be making lunches and serving them to the homeless in San Jose in Saint James Park. We will be done around noon. Also, starting this Sunday we will begin sign ups for Superbowl Pizzas. Everyone should get one because who doesn’t love the epic combination of pizza and football?! The proceeds will help support the winter retreat.

the FOLLOWing Wednesday, 1/25 we shall be venturing to la casa de Tom for dinner and discussion. Should be good. There will be chairs.

COMMON GROUND IS STARTING SOON :D . This is going to be a year you won’t want to miss. The lovely Katlynn Hoegel will be taking over the music aspect of this tour. It’s going to be good! Also, anyone and everyone should bring people :) . The more the merrier. OUR THEME IS NOW. It’s going to be a great idea to explore and find ways to apply it to our lives and our upcoming show.

That’s all folks!

Friday, September 16th, 2011

PLEASE,

Join us this Sunday as we brainstorm about what we want to learn about this year in Sunday School. :) YOU HAVE THE POWER! We can have a GREAT year learning about interesting things that actually pertain to us…or…we can learn about Leviticus. IT’S ALL UP TO YOU!! (But if you want to learn about Leviticus that’s fine too) So please c’mon down to the Youth Room at 9:15am so we can plan what will be a fun and stimulating year.

Love,

Your lovely Youth Assistants

(who assist the youth)

Hannah, Megan, Michael, Tyler

P.S. Amanda Boniface (Children’s Ministry Coordinator) would LOVE if we could have even MORE youth helping to lead Kid Connection Openings. (Tyler would really love it too) We had an excellent time last time so if you are at ALL interested please hit Tyler up via phone (408-202-5570) or facebook and he’ll fill you in on the details. It’s SUPER EASY and GREAT FUN so there really should be no reason why you wouldn’t want to do it :)

Next Wednesday (8/31)

Saturday, August 27th, 2011

Hi guys!!

This upcoming wednesday we will be brainstorming about ideas for the year!! We’ll be talking about Wednesday night activities, service projects and discussions to Sunday School topics and deciding whether or not we want to do Common Ground again (cuz, you know, its the most boring event of the year *sarcasm*). So please, calling all high schoolers, EVEN OUR NEWEST CHERUBS, the freshmen. But please only come if you have a brain stuffed full of ideas (that comes with a BIG, FAT JK, cuz my brain’s as empty as the US’s bank account and I will most certainly be there).

This is YOUR program and we need YOU GUYS to help shape it, so PLEASE join me as we plan a most wonderful new year :)

More logistical details to come. Stay tuned.

Love,

Your lovely youth assistant,

Tyler

P.S. Make sure to sign up for LABOR DAY RETREAT this weekend, it’ll be a BLAST! Please talk to any of the youth assistants, Tom, or Molly if you have any questions about registration.

May the 18z…..

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

Guten Tag yo,

Tomorrow, Wednesday the 18, we will be rocking some mini golf and rewarding good scores with in n out. For those of you who do not achieve par, we will be fed trash from the McDonald’s dumpster. Bring your game face and meet in the youth room at 5:30.

Once again, sunday the 22nd is our SENIOR RECOGNITION BRUNCH. For those of you unaware, this is where all non-seniors (this means you) cook us breakfast to show us your love for us. If you are not as fond of us, come and cook your heart out anyway. Your meal can symbolize your distain for us. And for those of you wishing to remain Switzerland (neutral), your fantastic cooking abilities will symbolize neither good, nor bad. There is no excuse for not showing up at 9 am sharp in the kitchen, ready to rock some breakfast.

Wednesday the 25, we will be grabbing some sandwiches and then raiding the Biehl residence. By this I mean we will be having a rockin discussion reminiscing and talking about the future. Meet at church at 5:30.

Finally, Friday the 27th is a MANDATORY work weekend for common ground. The cost for the weekend is $25. Meet friday night at 7:15. We will be departing at 4pm the following saturday.

Hope to see everybody soon,

love

Jeff, Jackie and MacQuenzie

upcoming events for the youth

Monday, March 28th, 2011

Yo comrades,

Hope everybody has been doing well. This upcoming Wednesday, March the 30th, will be a Bethel Youth potluck/game night. Be sure to bring your favorite food to share with the group and be ready to play some rockin’ games. We will meet in the youth room at 6 30 in the PM.

The following Sunday, we will be writing letters. Meet in the youth room at 9 30.

The Wednesday following the following Sunday (yes I just confused you), we will be off to dinner at 530 and then meeting back in the youth room for one of our famous discussions. Be ready to discuss.

Some reminders

Common Ground practices start at 7:15 in the music room, unless you are involved in drama or are a musician. See Rita (music) or Jillian (drama) for the correct time to arrive.

Be sure to start fundraising for the mexico trip. We leave April 16th so get busy.

The first Common Ground tour payment of 75 dollars is due anytime. Though this sounds lenient, I will personally be hunting you down if you fail to pay in a timely manner.

Just kidding.

But seriously don’t make me coming looking for you.

Jesus loves you.

Hope to see everybody soon,

Love, Jeff

March the 23 and on

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

Sup yall,

Tomorrow, Wednesday the 23th (Mackenzie’s favorite number), we will be off to Chicken Salsa for some of the best mexican food ever assembled. After dining on both chicken and salsa, we will be returning to church to discuss the upcoming Mission to Mexico trip with our fearless leader Sir Thomas. For those of you who have not gone with us to mexico before/or whom’s parents who have concerns which they wish to express, yall are encouraged to come to the youth room at 7:15 in the pm.

Sunday the 27 at 9:30 am, we will be receiving an update on Japan’s status and making paper cranes to help raise money. Doughnut holes will be provided courtesy of the Great Thomas.

Finally, Tom has asked me to share some words of wisdom regarding balance for the concluding months in our school year.

Unfortunately, as a second semester senior, I have little useful information to share.

However, I will use the words of someone else who’s name eludes me.

Though we have nearly reached our goals, we must put forth no less effort. For to see our dream elude our reach when we are so close is an unacceptable result for our days of work. Put no more energy into leisure than you would into this work, yet do not allow yourself to forget that every man needs his rest. Find balance from within so that you do not lose sight of what is important; whether in academics or in sharing time with those dear to you.

Hope to see everybody soon,

Love,

Jeff, Jackie and Mackenzie.
