Here are the two pages of the release form for everyone under 18 to fill out along with the signature of a parent.  You need to have your completed forms to join us this Wednesday, July 1st.  Remember, We’re meeting at Bethel at 9am and will be back in the evening.  Bring $25, a sack lunch, your signed release form, and money for snacks in the afternoon.  Feel free to email me at th----@------.net if you have any questions.  Also, you need to RSVP by Tuesday night to reserve your spot.

On July 1st, all Sr High and College Students are invited on our 1st Monterey Kayak Trip.  We’re leaving Bethel at 9am this coming Wednesday, July 1st and will be back in the evening.  The discounted cost is $25 per person, plus bring a sack lunch plus $’s for snacks in Monterey.  If you are under 18, you will need to have a parent complete the release form (available online starting Monday night).  Please RSVP to me (th----@------.net) to save your spot. Also, please bring $25 in cash or a check made out to Bethel Lutheran on Wednesday morning.

This is a link for how the church members can assist with our youth’s efforts in New Orleans this July.  Our service area is housing, so we are hoping to  support the ELCA National Youth Gathering’s efforts in housing by setting a goal of 25 units of each of the two areas, either TOOLS or HOUSEHOLD MAINTENANCE.   Church families can go to this link and purchase 1 or more units of either the tools ($20 per unit) or Household Maintenance ($10 per unit).  Our goal is 25 units each for a total of 50 units.  The “purchase” of these items will defray the cost to the national youth gathering for rebuilding New Orleans

Its hard to believe that as we’re finishing up our Common Ground Tour, we’re needing to put the final touches on our prep for the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans.  One significant piece in this prep is our Youth and Parent Info meeting this coming Wednesday, June 24th at 5:30pm at Bethel.  Come join us before our annual Drive In Movie outing (7:15pm) to get the details of our trip.  I will have financial totals for you next Sunday, June 28th.

Ok everyone, this is it. We are getting down to the wire. Time to put our noses to the grindstone. Time to put up or shut up. I’m out of cliched phrases to express that we need to work, but you get the idea. We are starting a weekend of pure workitude, on Friday at 7:15 p.m. We will be done on Saturday at 4:00, also p.m. Bring $25 and money for safeway, in addition to your sleeping bags and hard working attitudes. You won’t be needing your cell phone much, so don’t bring it if you can avoid it. This weekend has really got to be productive. Tour is on it’s way, so we need to get it right, get it right, get it tight. I can’t wait to slappa da bass with you all. See you then.

Salutations and Greetings 

I must admit, writing this particular post is torturous for me, as it is bound to be oodles of fun and I will not be able to attend.  (Hmm, I should not have mentioned that, as nobody will come now that I will not be there.)  I will be playing at a jazz concert that night, so you will be deprived of my presence, which will be cause for much weeping.  But cry for me not, is a conucopia of activities to do on  this wenesday night.  First, you got your BBQ, prepared by master barbequer Thomas Winstonford Hoegel.  Then we will be playing volleyball out on the grass of Creekside Park, followed by a short discussion and then a journey to the land of Yogurt.  All junior highers are invited to this extravaganza, so get ready for some inter generational hooplahs.  Bring 5 dollars and show up at 5:30 o clock sharp if you are down.
