This coming Wednesday (1/25) the youth group will be heading over to Tom’s beautiful new house to have a discussion on appearances (last time we discussed at Tom’s house we talked about foundations – it’s all very symbolic) Come join us! Especially if you missed out on our house discussion last time! We’ll meet at 5:30 on wednesday in the youth room and carpool over to Tom’s house (via Molly, Chris, Marianne and other adult type people). Then we’ll have a dinner consisting of Panda Meat and finally get started on our discussion. Don’t miss it!

Dear Friends,

This upcoming Wednesday it will be our turn to cook for Fun With Faith! (yayyyy). Please arrive at 5:30 to help cook a lovely brinner dinner. (brinner= breakfast for dinner :], including papas a la Molly, blueberry & chocolate chip panqueques a la personas hermosas(lovely youth assistants), juevos de Tomas, meat of mystery ( also known as egasuas)). Following this lovely meal, we will be having a discussion about our upcoming National Youth Gathering in New Orleans. Please bring a parental to get some information .

Then Sunday 1/22, join us at 9 oclock for worship. After worship we will be a part of Socks and Sandwiches. We will be making lunches and serving them to the homeless in San Jose in Saint James Park. We will be done around noon. Also, starting this Sunday we will begin sign ups for Superbowl Pizzas. Everyone should get one because who doesn’t love the epic combination of pizza and football?! The proceeds will help support the winter retreat.

the FOLLOWing Wednesday, 1/25 we shall be venturing to la casa de Tom for dinner and discussion. Should be good. There will be chairs.

COMMON GROUND IS STARTING SOON . This is going to be a year you won’t want to miss. The lovely Katlynn Hoegel will be taking over the music aspect of this tour. It’s going to be good! Also, anyone and everyone should bring people . The more the merrier. OUR THEME IS NOW. It’s going to be a great idea to explore and find ways to apply it to our lives and our upcoming show.

COMMON GROUND!

Dear youth group,

It’s that time of year again. Common ground is comin round! And we are filled with cheer. This Wednesday we will be talking about Common Ground 2012. If you were in it last year, wanna join it this year, or have absolutely no idea what Common Ground even is, COME, join us at 530 for a yummy meal at iHop, followed by a collaborative discussion about this upcoming tour. Since you will be the youth participating in this program, we want you to be as involved as possible! We want to hear EVERYONES input. This is also an excellent chance to bring your friends; the more the merrier!

Sunday 1/15 we will be venturing to Glide Memorial Church in San Francisco, followed by lunch in downtown. Please arrive at 9 AM, and try to notify one of the youth assistants if you plan to attend. Even if you don’t, you can still come we won’t shun you.

Just a little comment on Tyler’s AWESOME POST in the middle of the night last night. I’ve been getting some nervous questions about the future of Common Ground. It is alive and well and we’ll be ramping up plans this fall. While Rita can not be replaced, the spirit of Common Ground goes on and I know God has great things in store for 2012. Keep posted

Guten Tag yo,

Tomorrow, Wednesday the 18, we will be rocking some mini golf and rewarding good scores with in n out. For those of you who do not achieve par, we will be fed trash from the McDonald’s dumpster. Bring your game face and meet in the youth room at 5:30.

Once again, sunday the 22nd is our SENIOR RECOGNITION BRUNCH. For those of you unaware, this is where all non-seniors (this means you) cook us breakfast to show us your love for us. If you are not as fond of us, come and cook your heart out anyway. Your meal can symbolize your distain for us. And for those of you wishing to remain Switzerland (neutral), your fantastic cooking abilities will symbolize neither good, nor bad. There is no excuse for not showing up at 9 am sharp in the kitchen, ready to rock some breakfast.

Wednesday the 25, we will be grabbing some sandwiches and then raiding the Biehl residence. By this I mean we will be having a rockin discussion reminiscing and talking about the future. Meet at church at 5:30.

Finally, Friday the 27th is a MANDATORY work weekend for common ground. The cost for the weekend is $25. Meet friday night at 7:15. We will be departing at 4pm the following saturday.

Tonight is Parent’s Tour Info Night and I’m hoping that all the parental types can join us at 7:15pm to get the scoop on this year’s tour. I’m also attaching the announcement sheet for tonight. Just a reminder to pick up your pizza at JT McHarts tomorrow so the Western States Youth Gathering peeps can make 25% of it to support their trip.

Hey everybody, direct your attention towards me,

Wednesday the 11th we will be skadadling our way to Psycho Donuts (and other locations in that area) and then returning to church to have our very last “Dr. Phil, Jesus or Me” discussion. I know, but you should savor this time with Bethel because it won’t last forever. We will be meeting in the youth room at 530 in the pm.

Too ALL COMMON GROUNDERS: We need EVERYBODY (who? everybody) to be at church on May the 15th to sing for the congregation. We will be meeting in the Music and Ed room at 10 am sharp. Being late earns you demerit points.

And finally, and possible most importantly, the senior recognition brunch is may 22nd at 9 in the am. All non-seniors are required to attend/make me breakfast. Not showing up means that you will not get to take part in this breakfast when you are a senior. (That last part was false but I will be keeping track of all non-seniors who do not attend)
