Care Package Night

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Greetings from Oxford, Alabama. I’m on my way to the National Youthworker Extravaganza to be with 400 others who think youth are the life blood of the church. I know I feel blessed that I get to be a part of all of your lives. Thanks!

While I’m gone, Kristen, Lindsay, Paige, and Matty are going the extra mile to make sure things move on in the right direction. These are a busy two weeks with Common Ground starting next Monday (Feb 8th), Winter Retreat sign ups, Superbowl Pizza distribution, and tonight’s Fellowship outing to make Care Packages for our College Freshmen who are away.

So, meet at Bethel tonight (Feb 3rd) at 5:30pm to head out to dinner ($10) and to buy the stuff for the care packages. Come and show the love!

Also this Sunday, we’ll gathering for lunch at noon (right after worship) to enjoy some fresh Panda meat (Panda Express) and do some visioning as to what we hope Bethel will be in the future.  Pastor Lori will join us to hear your ideas as to what you would like to see in a new Pastor as well as for Bethel in general.  Please let me know if you are coming.  Email me at th----@------.net and/or call or text me at 408-309-9975.  Have a great new year!

The Biggest Sunday Ever!

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Merry Christmas Friends!

This Sunday is a huge one if you are a part of youth ministries here at Bethel.  If you are a Sr Higher, your day starts at 9:30am in the youth room with a special edition of Sunday School.  We spend some time getting to know our interim pastor, Lori, and her husband Steve.  After we hear their interesting story, we’ll spend some time getting your opinions as to what is important in our next full time pastor.  Don’t miss this chance to help shape Bethel’s future.

Then, at 1:45pm, we’ll gather with all Jr Highers, Sr Highers and college youth to head off for our annual Skating / Caroling / Pizza Extravaganza.  Bring $20 to cover your skating outdoors at Winterlodge in Palo Alto and your pizza dinner.  We’ll also spend time bringing Christmas cheer through song at two or three places.  Should  be cool.

Please respond if you are able to join us for the Sunday event.  You can call me on my cell at 408-309-9975 or email me at th----@------.net.

Peace, Tom

Get in the Christmas Spirit!

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Hi Friends,

I have found that there’s no better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to watch the Bethel School Christmas program (directed by Norita).  It is even better than Christmas Songs at the mall :) ,  Well, tonight is the night for you to get into it:  Our Sr High youth group will be attending the Christmas program at 7:00pm and then will head over to Yogurtland for a little Christmas snack (bring $4 or $5).  See ya tonight.

Tom

P.S.  There will be no Sr High Fellowship the coming two weeks due to the Christmas Vacation.  Keep posted though about the Skating/Caroling/Pizza Extravaganza this coming Sunday, December 20th at 1:45pm and the SF Walking tour on Tuesday, December 22nd.
